I wanted a sturdy carrier and this fit the bill. I drove 5,000 miles with about 100 lb of gear and the carrier was rock solid. The hitch bolt tightens so there is no wobble, and the carrier itself is two halves that bolt onto the part that goes into the hitch. Other carriers I looked at had many parts to bolt together, which seemed more likely to loosen over time.Instead of an expensive enclosure to put on the carrier I used an old packing blanket I had lying around to wrap around the outside (so it could get dirty), and inside that used sturdy plastic containers wrapped in a green plastic garbage bag to protect from rain, and secured everything with a strap and rope. Worked like a charm.
